BeTheanine® is an extract 100% from selected green tea, without any carrier or compounds other than from the extraction of green tea, using low ethanol, standardized in 40% L-Theanine..In order to comply with the extraction protocol recommended in Europe (low ethanol), a specific supply chain has been set up:
- precise selection of the collection area and teas,
- definition of the level of leaf maturity
- suitable drying system to preserve the assay,
- Implementation of a selection protocol according to the active ingredient content
- etc…
L-Theanine is an amino acid extracted from tea, primarily targeting cognitive function and stress management (via neurotransmission and GABA pathways). BECARRE Natural already offered a 100% green tea extract standardized to 98% L-theanine (no synthesis, no fermentation, ethanol extraction), so declared as a substance (L-theanine from green tea) under EU regulatory guidelines..
BeTheanine® was developed by BECARRE Natural to comply with specific EU regulations regarding “green tea extract" labeling. Years of research and trials were required to validate the sourcing, the leaves’ maturity period, and their drying method, the extraction process—using only low-concentration ethanol and water, without any carriers—while maintaining a ratio of up to 11 g of plant material per approximately 350 mg of extract, and ensuring a very low levels of caffeine, EGCG, etc…
BeTheanine® is a green tea extract that retains its "green tea extract" classification while providing 40% L-theanine and complying with regulatory requirements. The product is pleasant-tasting and soluble.
