Papain - Papain - papaya fruit latex extract
Papain, a papaya fruit latex extract, is a cysteine protease that catalyzes the cleavage of peptide bonds using a catalytic triad involving a deprotonated cysteine residue. In the additive lsit, it's E1101
Papain is well known for improving digestion and treating infections, diarrhea, and allergies. It has also been used, with other protease, to reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling. Also being studied for use in cancer and other diseases.
Topical use : Antistatic (reduces static electricity by neutralizing the electrical charge on a surface), Hair conditioner (hair that is easy to comb, supple, soft and shiny and / or gives volume, lightness and shine), Skin care agent. Also in treatments to remove dead skin on the surface of the epidermis, and in shampoos for pets which clean the fur and facilitate brushing.
Manufacturer : The manufacturer is the ww leader, and grows pineapple and papya in the coastal regions where there is abundant rainfall and humid climate. They have an agreement with the farmers and also have their own farms. The temperature is between 22 deg to 36 deg without a huge difference in the day night temperature. In between the pineapple plants, papaya is grown. This helps to manage the water usage. Weeding is done manually though it is not a big concern. Fertilizers are not so much used. The soil is maintained at a pH of 5.5 to 6.0.
Cultivation : Any kind of soil is OK though sandy loam is very good. Soil should be able to drain water. Rain water is sufficient but when rains are scant then irrigation is done once in two weeks.

Enzymes - Nutritional enzymes
Digestive enzymes are necessary to break down molecules into even smaller molecules that can be easily absorbed. We usually consider three main types of digestive enzymes :
Proteases: Break down protein into small peptides and amino acids
Lipases: Break down fat into three fatty acids plus a glycerol molecule
Amylases: Amylase to break down carbs like starch into simple sugars (alpha or beta) , but aso Lactase, Cellulase, etc...
