Xymenynic Acid
Xymenynic - Antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory - firmness and anti-sagging eye creams
Xymenynic acid is a long-chain acetylenic fatty acid, extracted from seed oil of the Santalaceae family, or from the fruit kernels of the Santalum obtusifolium. Santalum album, or Indian sandalwood or white santal in french, is a small tropical tree, primary source of sandalwood and the derived oil.
Previous studies demonstrated that Xymenynic acid has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory activities. Among these properties, the anti-inflammatory activity of Xymenynic acid has been widely studied.
Xymenynic is reported to increase firmness and minimize the appearance of cellulite skin : anti-cellulite applications, body firming products, contouring treatments, bust firming lotions, skin tightening face creams and anti-sagging eye creams.
Xymenynic Acid is also used to improve hair vitality and reduce hair loss, and as an anti-inflammatory to preserve texture and integrity of the skin (boost cellular detoxification mechanisms and alleviate adverse symptoms of skin inflammation).
It's extracted from controlled cultivation in forest area, and must be stored in a refrigerator, 2°C to 8°C.
