Silbinol WS 5%
Silbinol® - Active pterostilbens from Pterocarpus - cardiovascular and peroxidation
Silbinol is the extract of Pterocarpus marsupium standardized in Pterostilben (5%, 30% or 90%) and catechins. Stilbens are known for their antioxidant activity (well above resveratrol against peroxidation) and cardiovascular (such as resveratrol, viniferin, etc ...). The Pterostilbens present in addition to many other properties such as analgesic (Remsberg et al), anti-diabetic (Satheesh and Pari), antimicrobial (5 to 10 times the resveratrol), UV protection, hyperlimidémie (by induction PPARa, anti-inflammatory (anti-COX2), etc ....- Improves insulin sensitivity and proper sugar level (comparable to 1.1-dimethylbiguanide (metformin) Manickam, et al., 1997) and blood lipids. Pterostilbens showed the highest induction of PPARa, by acting on the luciferase (Rimando et al. 2005).
- Improves dyslipidemia, with an action on the cardiovascular benefit derived
- Source of pterostilbens - a powerful antioxidant and antifungal with biological activity and absorption than those of resveratrol
Pterocarpus - Or Malabar kino, Indian kino tree, or vijayasar
Pterocarpus marsupium (= Kino de Malabar = Indian Kino) is used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine as one of the most important ingredients in preparations for managing diabetes. Since ancient times, Ayurvedacharyas have used pieces of bark of Pterocarpus to manage diabetes. Its different parts have been used in cosmetic preparations aimed at soothing dry irritated and scaly skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and dark circles, and in nutrition to support normal blood physiology, promote urinary tract health, support weight management and support healthy cholesterol levels.
Pterostilbene - a stilbenoid, defensive phytoalexin in plants - is the most important bioactive.
Pterocarpus marsupium is considered in the endangered species category by the World Conservation Monitoring Center. The alarm has been sensed by Sami-Sabinsa group which, to act accordingly, launched a reforestation project. The group has committed to fund about $ 500,000 for this 10-year reforestation project, which it claims is the first initiative to conserve this high-value, multipurpose, threatened species in India. The project earned the Nutra-Ingredients-USA Editors Award for Industry Initiative of the Year for 2018.
