Neem (Neemoids) - Insect repellent, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-lice
Neemoids is the brand name for Neem Seed Extract, providing min. 50% limonoids and 1000 ppm Azarirach. It is used for its anti-bacterial (the literature compares its effectiveness to penicillin G), anti-fungal and more generally anti-septic activities. It is also considered to be a powerful immune booster, anti-inflammatory and detoxifier.
Another facet is its anti-insect (reminiscent) activity since it is used against mosquitoes (90% to 100% protection against malaria vectors and 70% against Culex quinquefasciatus (another mosquito).
Finally, it is used in anti-lice products (extensive documentation). Neemoids also has a much lesser odor than neem oil.

Neem Tree, also known as 'Azadirachta indica' is a tree native to India. In Sanskrit, neem is arista, which means something that is perfect, imperishable and complete.
Neem leaf is traditionnaly used for leprosy, eye disorders, bloody nose, intestinal worms, stomach upset, loss of appetite, skin ulcers, diseases of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease), fever, diabetes, gum disease (gingivitis), and liver problems. The leaf is also used for birth control and to cause abortions.
Extracted from neem seeds, the neem oil is rich in medicinal properties which are what makes it a great ingredient in cosmetics and other beauty products: soaps, hair oil, hand wash, soap etc. It can treat a bunch of skin diseases and is known to be an excellent mosquito repellent. So far, at least nine neem limonoids have demonstrated an ability to block insect growth, affecting a range of species that includes some of the most deadly pests of agriculture and human health.
