Iron Deficiency and Physical Activity

Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) is the most ubiquitous nutritional deficiency worldwide, and is particularly prevalent in women and infants. A new study explain the mechanism of action, and the Supplementation with a natural product, Bioperine.
Supplementation with a natural product, Bioperine®, in the form of black pepper, as a bioavailability enhancer, shows a potential application as an athlete Fe supplement for improving hematological parameters. Therefore, it is proposed as an innovative food therapy without side effects in ID patients supplemented with Fe for the control of Fe status with or without anemia. BioPerine has the potential to be applied in the formulation of supplements to improve sustained and controlled release bioavailability, to allow a decrease in dosage and dosing frequency, which would increase patient compliance and tolerance.
This study is also interesting for us because it proves again – if needed – the safety of BioPerine® at the recommended dose of few mg, and the authors clearly describe the mechanism of action and the effectiveness of BioPerine® as a thermonutrient by stimulating the Bioenergetic Processes.
