Low emodin Natural Resveratrol

In order to respond to the publication of the Regulation on plants containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives (HAD), we had anticipated for our Resveratrol in order to offer you a compliant solution quickly.

Becarre Natural now offer you its natural resveratrol, for a low emodin content.

Origin : Japanese Knotweed Root Extract (Polygonum cuspidatum)

Low in Emodine <2 ppm, target <1ppm in end product

2 grades available: 50% and 98%

Natural resveratrol is a powerful anti-oxidant (Claim pending), with various properties based on studies :

• Cardiovascular health: lowers LDL concentration and inhibits cyclooxygenase activity
• Symptoms of Menopause (Claim pending)
• Antiproliferative, anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties

Regulation (EU) 2021/468, published on March 18, 2021, modifies Annex III of Regulation (EC) 1925/2006 to add plants containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives. The Regulations come into force on the 20th day following their publication, i.e. April 8, 2021.

Prohibition (part A):

• Aloe-emodin and all preparations in which this substance is present (eg Resveratrol)
• Emodin and all preparations in which this substance is present
• Danthrone and all preparations in which this substance is present

Under Community control (part C):

• Preparations from the roots or rhizomes of Rheum palmatum L., Rheum officinale Baillon and their hybrids containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives
• Preparations from leaves or fruits of Cassia senna L. containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives
• Preparations from the bark of Rhamnus frangula L. or Rhamnus purshiana DC. containing hydroxyanthracene derivatives

From the entry into force of the measure, products containing HAD plant preparations must have an aloe-emodin, emodin and aloin A + Aloin B content of less than 1 ppm.
